Marching book
Build marching books, print them two-column and export per part.
The marching book module turns an ordered selection of marches into a print-ready marching book. The actual part is chosen only at export time – the marching book itself is part-independent. Current prices: sinfoniaone.at/pricing.
Create a marching book
- Marching book → New.
- Give it a name (e.g. Parades 2026).
- Add marches from the score archive.
- Adjust the order via the position field (drag & drop). There is also a number field for your association's own numbering – independent of the order.
Two-column print layout
The print layout follows a fixed rule and is optimised for double-sided printing:
- All pieces are split into two halves.
- Page
kshows:- top: piece
k - bottom: piece
k + N/2
- top: piece
- With an odd number the split rounds up; the last bottom slot remains empty.
That way consecutive pieces end up next to each other on the front and back of the same sheet when turning the page – exactly the way a marching book is used in the pocket.
Export
At export time you pick the desired part – SinfoniaOne combines the matching sheet music PDFs of every piece into a single PDF using the two-column layout above. Two export modes per marching book:
- Single part – one PDF for a specific part.
- Whole ensemble – one marching book per instrument of the chosen ensemble.
Numbering & position
- Position – print order.
- Number – running number according to your association's standard.
Both fields are independent: you can reorder pieces without changing their number, and assign numbers freely afterwards.
Trash
Deleted entries and entire marching books stay in the trash and can be restored or permanently removed by authorised people. This way older compilations can be audited at any time without keeping copies around.
Permissions
The rights to edit, export and delete a marching book are – as with all content – distributed via groups.
